The Animal Crossing Supporting Cast
Several lesser-known characters will visit your town now and then. Some offer helpful reminders, while others provide comic relief. Get to know these loveable characters – they may not bring you new shirt designs like Gracie or fancy rugs like Saharah, but they still play important roles.
Kapp’n
You will recognise Kapp’n as the pirate-talking cabbie who first brought you to town. When he is not on duty, he likes to hang out at The Roost. He can be very chatty and want to know all about you. If you ever want to move to a different town, Kapp’n will take you to your new home.
Blanca
Blanca will show up once you have set up your DS to watch for wireless downloads. (Use the phone in your bedroom to contact the Service Centre). Once you start playing via Wi-Fi, Blanca will make an occasional visit. She will let you draw a face on her, just like you were creating a pattern for a shirt. When you are done playing wirelessly, she will leave town. Ask Booker for more details.
Rover
Rover is aptly named – he likes to roam from town to town taking in the atmosphere. If you see him at The Roost, have a chat with him. He may not have any special gifts or sage advice to offer, but unlike most folks in your town, he is always in a good mood!
Resetti
Resetti is the mole behind the scenes. He spends his time underground taking care of business and keeping the town working smoothly. He is also one of the grumpiest moles you will ever meet – if you do anything to disrupt the smooth flow of business in town, like turning off your DS before you save your game, he will give you the scolding of a lifetime. To avoid getting chewed out, always press Start and save your game before you shut off your DS.
Katrina
On random weekdays the mysterious fortune-teller Katrina will set up her tent for business. For 100 bells, Katrina will tell you your fortune. You can request the standard fortune or ask her to assess your compatibility with someone (whether that person is in the game or not). Simply type in the name you want her to investigate.
None of Katrina’s fortunes will change your life dramatically. At only 100 bells a session, what did you expect? You can also ask to have your spirit cleansed for a whopping 10,000 bells – but you cannot be sure you are getting your money’s worth.
Snowman
When snow is on the ground, you can make a living snowman. To do this, locate the two snowballs in town and roll them around in the snow until they are the right sizes to create a well-proportioned snowman. Snowballs rolled on the snow-free ground will shrink. For the first snowball, create the biggest one possible; roll it around as much as you can. The second one (for the head) is more difficult. It has to be slightly smaller than the first – if your snowman is oddly proportioned, it won’t reward you with a gift.
When you complete the snowman, it will come to life, and it may give you a gift from the rare Snowman furniture series. These items are worth a lot of bells, so build snowmen as often as possible.
